"Worm creates fake Google - Spoofed webpage is identical, but displays alternative ads" ...an article dated on September 19, 2005 on the Vnunet website.

Just like most of the webmasters here, we have suffered a similar fate where our SERPs have disappeared. We are just as puzzled as everyone else. In doing research, we have come across an interesting mishap that occured to google just about the same day our results disappeared (9/20 or so). I am wondering if other webmasters might see a correlation with the worm and the SERPs disappearing. Please give your insight as this might help draw us closer to some sort of a conclusion.

Google's bread and butter is advertising and this site redirects all Google searches to this spoof site, with the user never knowing and displays their own ads. Interesting reading, and not sure how Google will solve this problem. Do a search at Vnunet for the article, and share your thoughts...

Just Spyware - how would this effect Google ability to crawl (and not sort out canonical url problems ;)) etc
