Google Index Woes

A couple of pages are supposedly indexed but no search brings them up.

First, I operate my own site but lay no claim to web master expertise. My site is my biz portal and only 6 pages. With the Bourbon update, a couple of important pages that target a specific sector of my clientele (the main page addresses all sectors) stopped showing up (both used to be on the first page of search results for several key words/phrases), and a search of the directory using the exact URL said they weren't there.

So, I revised them, put in a XML site map from a page Google referred me to for that, corrected html errors found using a parser, re-submitted the pages manually, and probably other things I have forgotten--I did everything I could find on the subject in the forums and etc. (the links are on the main page and the pages are really well optimized and so on).

Just now I used the site:http://sitename.com command, and all pages are supposedly listed (including my site map and links page!), but the two pages in question do not come up when I search the directory using the exact URLs, and a web search using part of the page title does not bring up these pages either (at least in the first 25 pages of search listings). I am at a loss and really could use the traffic these pages used to bring me.
