Supplemental Listings

I have a domain that is about 6 months in age. There are about 20k of webpages.

Up until recently, I had about 100 pages in google (not sure if they were supplemental or not). I just checked the other day and now all the pages are in supplemental.

Can it be save to assume that supplemental is another way of saying sandbox and over time, with improved page content and backlinks, these pages will move into the main google index?
