Has Google failed to index my site?

Hello.

I am not sure if this is the right place to ask but I need a help with this.

I submitted my website to Google on 7/11, 7/25, and 8/8 in 2005. With my site not being visited nor indexed, almost two months have passed, but finally Google 'seemed' to notice the existence of my site a couple of days ago according to the logger, probably soon after I created a Sitemap for the site as I was recommended to do so.

But what's strange is that if I enter "www.mysite.com" or "mysite" in its search box, Google brings up only "www.mysite.com/" as the result, without any description, nor the title of the site under the URL.

Can anybody tell me what's happening to this search result I'm getting? Has Google somehow failed to index the site?

By the way, the site has been included in Yahoo soon after I submitted it to Yahoo in the first week of August.
