We've been accepted to Google News' listings, meaning that everytime we post an article or blog entry, it shows up on Google news, sometimes with a thumbnail picture taken directly from the article. I would imagine that this would my traffic out (how much, I do not know) but will it help my page rank and how high I am listed for my keywords?

I am trying to get in with Yahoo News as well, but they seem to be a bit stricter I guess. No luck there so far.

Google Search and Google News are two seperate things. Don't expect a direct boost in your search rankings. However there are many indirect benefits from being listed in Google News that will slowly trickle down and help your search rankings like scrapers.

Thanks. It's pretty exciting, I already see Google providing us with about 20% of our traffic, and this is the offseason for us, so we aren't producing that much content. Can you tell me a little bit about the "indirect benefits" you are talking about? Anything else except for the direct traffic I get off people finding my articles on Google News?
