Submission to regional google search engines?

I'd like to know whether it is necessary and useful to submit sites to regional google search engines, for exapmle google.ch or google.ie and so on if the site has already been submitted to google.com.

Don't worry about submitting, just get links from sites already listed in those regional versions. Also it helps if your site is hosted in the region and/or has the country TLD.
