I was just wondering. When google goes and takes a snapshot of your homepage, what type of spider actually retrieves the new information about your homepage?

Is it the same googlebot spiders that retrieves your regular pages?

Everytime you make a change to your homepage how long does it take google to come and find the info?

How long after it has been cached will you find the new results in a search? Or is that totally different from other google spiders responsibilities?

Please Advice.

Thanks!

Yes.

Depends entirely upon the site and frequency of updating.

> cached will you find the new results in a search?

Varies month-to-month. YOu should see it within 30days.

Thanks Brett! Appreciate your response.

This is a shout out to any one who may have an answer to these questions. Brett if you are still there, maybe you can help me.

Is there any advantage to having your homepage cached daily as opposed to lets say once every couple of weeks?

Does having your homepage cached more often indicate that google likes your site, or is it that correct server configuration is doing its job?

Because homepage is cached lets say daily, does that mean fresher search results quicker for that site?

Finally is there anyway to get google to cache homepage more often, even daily? Or is it cross your fingers and hope?

Thank You in advance for your respones.

For giving Googlebot an indication how often to look at a page have a look at Google Sitemaps [google.com...] in particular the tag changefreq.
