What i would love Google to implement is a source code search.....being able to actually search code just as you do the text on the page would sometimes pretty darn useful...makes searching backlinks a doddle....type the full url and you get all pages with that url no matter what anchor text is used and no more relying on how backlinks are copunted..would be useful for searching a bunch of other stuff too....might not be much call for it from the general public but I bet a lot of websmasters and programmers would love it! I know there are source code engines out there but im thinking a search tool that finds anything you type..whether its code or text...for example it will bring up comment tags in the search...

I would bet this is already possible, but has not been made public. Google will always try to make things that are usefull for the average joe user, not quite sure how source code search would fit in. I bet google already use this feature internaly to find pages that are up to no good.
