My site which was a PR 4 just fell to 0 a few days back....
But the strange thing is that it doesnot seems that the site is banned as all the pages are stiill in google's index....

Has any one else noticed any thing similar?

I posted this in google news twice but it says needs moderators approval and still the topic posted two days earlier has not been posted

Patience!

It takes the moderators a little while to sort the threads to be shown in the google forum. If you keep posting the same thing over and over your posts will get deleted or will just be ignored by people who would normally help you.

It is difficult to say what has caused the drop in pr. It is not normally so sudden. My thoughts are that something within your site has tripped a filter that has resulted in your site being penalised. I would go check your site for the usual candidates. Keyword stuffing, redirects, that sort of thing. Have you changed anything recently?

How old is the site? It may just be that the search engine is using an older index for a short time and you lost your PR for a short time as well. Sometimes that happens to new websites.

If you have a good website and haven't done anything wrong in building it, then I would just wait a short time to see if it comes back.

I may be wrong but I didn't think there had been a PR update recently, the last one being in April.

It's possible that your toolbar is not picking up a PR at the moment - this happens sometimes.

Or you could be about to drop out of the SERPS. A ban isn't necessarily instant or complete.

The way, as far as I know, to find out if you're in penalty is to see if you are called 'supplemental results' in google search.

Has the number of backlinks (to your homepage) Google thinks are valid/quality decreased lately?

I've got one site that reads either PR3 or PR5 depending on the datacenter. It's been like this for weeks.... not sure what to make of it.

i have a website that's been around for years, i've been tracking the pr for awhile: www dot yyyy dot com and yyyy dot com.

same website, i was just curious to see how the url's tracked, www and non-www... they both had the same pr4.

all of a sudden the non-www version dropped from pr4 to pr0... and it's been that way for at least a couple of weeks... is this significant?

Hi kartiksh the same thing happened to one of my friends also .... at the exactly same time and his PR is also now back ....

May be some problem with some of googles data centres.....

Just a guess.....But the best thing is that the pr is back from 0 to original....

strangely this happened to me aswell, dropped from 4 to 0 then went back up, however, since it has come back, any search results no longer include my front page, just other pages from my site, meaning that for certain keywords, instead of being on the first 4 pages i'm now on page 17! any one have any ideas why it would not show my front page in searches? unless i type in my www. address in which case it is of course top? any ideas?

This is not the case with my site ... i sont know the rankings for particular keywords..... but the overall traffic has increased slightly ....

No decrease in traffic as such ....
