What is the best way to transfer the domain to my registrar? These are the 2 services I heard of so far, thru this forum:
1. escrow
2. sedo
Are these 2 services reputable? Is there a better choice?
And will these services transfer the domain automatically after I pay the seller, and the seller accepts the payment?
Thanks again.

Do it yourself. Just go to your favorite registrar's website and initiate a domain transfer. The process is more or less the same as simply purchasing a new domain. The seller will have to "approve" the transfer but this is rarely a problem.
So I pay a stranger $#*$!xx money, and there is a chance he will not transfer the domain. Then what? Beg?
Is there a chance you'll get ripped off? Of course there is. Is it likely? Not in the least.
I buy and sell sites (not just domains) on an ongoing basis, typically 3 to 5 per month. These sites range in price from $500 to $50K in price. In over four years of doing this business I have NEVER had a seller who refused to hand over the domain after it was paid for. I've had a few who had no clue how to do it so I had to walk them through it, but not one refused to transfer ownership.
Does that mean it can't happen? No. It might happen on your first purchase. You might also get struck by lightning the next time you leave the house, but it's highly unlikely.
Just my two cents worth, and that's probably two cents more than it's worth. But if I had to hassle with escrow every time I buy or sell a site or domain I would still be working hard for a living. I prefer to live well and not sweat the small stuff.
Bottom line: It's your money and only you know your threshold for risk. If escrow lets you sleep better at night, go for it. If you want to move your business forward do it yourself. That's all I'm saying.
Do you currently have a registrar that you work with for any of your domains that you own?If so ... you log into your account and initiate a domain transfer...plain and simple...all reputable registrars offer this service..
I use Godaddy. I know I can initiate the transfer of the domain, but I still have to pay the guy. He probably would want the money first, through a check, or through paypal. It is still possible that he will not accept the transfer though, on his end. How can Godaddy assure that he clicks on the button to verify the transfer? There are alot of dishonest people in this world, so I am surprised that some of you would be willing to take the risk. Man, I would NEVER trust anyone I don't know, especially with huge amounts of money.
