Is There a Way to Be Unblacklisted?

I think I've been blacklisted.

Hi everyone.

I created a web site and optimized it with keywords etc. I was very pleased with the result. Using certain keywords I appeared on page 4 of Google.

Unfortunately what's happened since is, more content has been added to the homepage which has sent the keyword phrases rocketing through the roof (well over 50% anyway!). It didn't even cross my mind to check the keyword density as I merrily added more content.

Is there anyway to undo the damage?

Pretty sure I've been blacklisted, can't even find the web site when I search for the name of the organisation who I've done the web site for.

Just try by implementing the old version of changes...

1. How long does a penalised site stay penalised?

2. How long does a banned website (no PR) stay blacklisted?

I have a penalised site (some affiliate program now deleted) and wondering if its quicker to move the domain.

I think that if you are banned from Google, it's a permanent ban until you submit a reinclusion request and it is successfully processed?

Does the site show up if you search for the URL, such as www.example.org, (no quotes around it)?

How long has the site been in Google's index?

Your problem might not be keyword density. It could be one of several other things.

Also make sure to check the robots.txt file (if any)

It is easy to make a mistake in them and people do sometimes accidently ban searchengines from their site.

Does the site show up if you search for the URL, such as www.example.org, (no quotes around it)?

That is indeed the best way to check for a ban. If the site is banned (or never crawled before) it says "Sorry, no information is available for the URL www.example.com". I checked this on some large corporate sites that were in the news in the Netherlands because they were banned.

Thanks for your comments everyone and it seems that the site is not actually blacklisted as it does appear when I search for the url and it now appears when I put the name of the organisation in - I'm convinced I couldn't find it the other day!
I'll remember about searching for the url - that's helpful.

Andromeda your site may not be blacklisted but it most certainly can be penalised.

That may explain why I don't appear on page 4 (oer even page 10) anymore. Is there anyway to become unpenalized?

How old is the site? How long has it been in the index?

If it has been in the index less than a couple of months, it will be bouncing all over the place.

Andromida,

Google doeas what it wants when it wants. As you can see from the vast array of questions about your question there isnt really an answer.

In my view .. if you are persistant you will get some rewards. Content should be added to slowly not in large batches. If it gets removed from the index unless you are doing something very "wrong" in the eyes of the googlegods ... your site should return in time.

Advise from many SEO people I know is not to move your site and simply wait as they say your site will be back within 75 to 90 days if you have removed the spam. In my own experience I had one site drop out of the for doing nothing wrong and after 8 months it just appeared.

I have been penalised for a affiliate shop (used by other websites) and at the time I did not consider it spam. I removed the affiliate shop and and Google re-spidered me however I don’t know how long I will have to wait (75 to 90 days according to SEO people or 8 months in my experience). The dilemma is do I move the site to a new URL or wait? I think the best option is to wait.

I also sent in a re-inclusion request to Google – its unlikely it will have an effect but its worth a shot.

Did you send a reinclusion request for your domain that was out of the index for 8 months? If so, what kind of replies did you receive and what kind of turnaround time was there with the replies?
