This one's quite new for me. Today, I have discovered that one of my swf files indexed by googlebot, actually has rank value of 5. It's displayed like normal PR in the toolbar... Not to be mistaken with HTML page of that file though.

On my server I keep swf files in a separate directory together with their accompanying html pages. That particular file, eg. myfile.swf has (page?)Rank 5 while the myfile.html page has no page rank at all... Does that sound strange?

How did that swf file earned any rank and why its html pair got no page rank at all?

My other swf files has no rank values. I googled some more sites with flash movies and found out that there are many of them with a PR....

Thanks all

Could it be that myfile.swf has taken the SERP of myfile.html and the PR along with it?

Any file which should not be indexed should be disallowed in robots.txt
