I've discovered something very strange - Google has two different cached versions of my site's homepage! One up to date one from yesterday, and also one from over a year ago!
Google also seems to have a lot of very old content of mine cached that hasn't been live for many months now. I've added redirect 301s in an htaccess file to try and force a refresh, but is there anything else I can do? I have hundreds of new pages that just aren't being seen.
Another question - does a page have to have a filename to 'exist' for a search engine? Most of my pages are database driven using the Smarty PHP templating engine and are of the type [example.com...]
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks
Jim
