Hi,

I'm trying the site search function
[google.com...]
for a client's site but when I try to customise it i get error message "There are no pages in our index for "example.com"*
* We cannot perform SiteSearch on this domain(s)."

However, a Google site:example.com search returns roughly 4-6.000 pages, depending on the DC.

What could be wrong? Is this option still available now that we have AdSense for search?

Thanks in advance!

I've had the same experience, but I then tried news.bbc.co.uk and www.microsoft.com and apparently they are not there either...

Ah, thanks. But.. then how do you get it installed? Or rather: how do you get past that particular page in the setup and still end up with the right search buttons?

I second that request -- anyone?

I'm trying to set up sitesearch too. The domain is in the Google index but sitesearch setup says it's not.

I tried many other domains and none work.

It even says that there are no google.com pages in google's index!

Did they close down sitesearch or something?

Anybody know what's going on?

Thanks for taking the time to help.

Found this:

[webmasterworld.com...]

It says Google knows about this problem.

I guess Free stuff (i.e. non-revenue generating) is pretty low on their priority list these days.

Oh well.
