Thunderstorm knocked my sites off the Net

How long before I am adversely affected in the SERPs?

An early morning thunderstorm knocked my websites off the Net today. My DSL service provider is sending a tech tomorrow morning to fix the problem. Hopefully.

How long can my sites be off the Net before I am adversely affected in the Google SERPs? (Pardon me if this is a FAQ.)

If this turns into a days-long outage (unlikely), and if I drop in the SERPs, what can I do to recover?

This outage really sucks, because SEO efforts in the previous week had my site traffic beginning to surge yesterday.

Search engines have an understanding that things can go wrong. What you may find is a quick drop in position , but a quick recovery. I had a few days downtime about a month ago and pretty much dissapeared from the index. Google bot was back on the scene the next day and ranking returned very soon.
