I registered a domain in early March, and within the first google update, it was granted a pagerank of 1. Of course it's just a 1, but Im surprised its not a 0.

Google has already indexed just under 500 pages from the site. MSN already has >5000 pages indexed from that domain.

Another site I registered in early March already has a pagerank of 2.

I think this may have been due to the way I introduced the sites using my more powerful sites to jump off. I basically linked to the new domain from just a handful of already ranked sites.

Welcome to WebamsterWorld, mickeymart.

I'm glad your sites are doing well, but there may be some confusion here. "Sandbox" doesn't affect PageRank or crawl depth.

my bad.. I thought sandbox meant it sat at 0 pagerank for a while and didn't get crawled 500 pages deep..

so what exactly is the sandbox? I need some clarification apparently :)

I checked out more research on the subject and I think I understand now how the sandbox actually would affect ranking in results, which does seem to match up because google only sends a handful of traffic.
