Old index?

Thousands of 404 pages being shown

Would anybody concur that Google is currently (18th April, 13:40h GMT) showing an old index?

A site:www.example.com command for one of my sites is showing several thousand pages that have been giving a 404 response for 2 weeks now. Last week Google wasn't showing these pages for a site: command.
