Our site is a veteran on the web and has always enjoyed a number 1 or until the last 12 months or so (after a malicious webmaster took us down), a number 2 position on google for a one word search term until today that is. On further investigations I can see us appearing on page 17 with a cached date of 4th April 2005.
Could it be that I’m seeing the results from a different data centre, and my homepage will hopefully re-appear given some time?, has anyone else noticed a change in the google algorithm?
We had made some major changes to our homepage 2 weeks ago - (and it has been spidered at least twice since the 4th of April) but this hasn’t affected MSN or Yahoo - just Google - so I know its not in the coding of the site.
I realise this is not anything new, to be dropped at sometime in the lifecycle of a site, but has anyone else noticed a change in google for the plural of a one word search term.
Any suggestions would be great.
Cheers
