First the snippet, now the title

What's happening to my site?

I've been number one for a particular two word phrase since 1988, and now I'm tenth (no change to the website).

That hurt a bit.

Then the enticing words on my homepage have been replaced in the snippet by the DMOZ text from 1988, archaic and not as relevant as I'd like in he 21st century.

That hurt a bit more.

And then today, on a search where I used to come third, my homepage came in at position 8 with the <title> replaced by someone else's anchor text to my site. Google's cache is fine enough, but in the SERPS it's not my title, never has been my title...

Anyone else see this for their own site(s)?
Anyone have any remedies, apart from uncorking my dinner and looking again tomorrow in the cold light of day?

None of my other sites shows this behaviour (or misbehaviour, as it ought to be!)
