Dublicate Content Filter

My main page seems to be filtered because of dublicate content. I was really surprised to find out that my main page have been copied by some 30 websites. Is it possible that google filters the page, that the content was stolen and republished entirely on other sites? That would mean that if I have unique content and somebody adds exactly same text on their pages, my site can be filtered? When i add &filter=0 to the url string my site is on 30th position of 2 000 000 results. I've decided to change all the content on my main page. Do you think it will help me? My site was opened 4 years ago, it has more than 300 inbounds (top ten competitors have up to 200 inbounds), unique content, no black hat tricks, 150 internal pages and it's filtered. It's nowhere to be found.

If you own the copyright. Issue a DDMA notice to Google against the site that is ranking higher than you.

You are describing the same problem I am faced with right now. My main page or home page changes daily based on new articles that are published. It does not help me.

Yea, that will help...Google couldn't care less, they will send you that stupid form letter about ranking in Google, yada yada yada and send you on your way. I have given up
trying to write them, or Googleguy, he appears to have become insignificant as well.

The DDMA noticed has worked for a number of people. May I suggest that there was a problem with the way you presented your request?

Recently (2 weeks ago) I found a site that had copied my whole site and even though it had no PR, it was ranking higher than me for exact text matches (possibly my site had other issues). I send a DMCA to google and the homepage was removed from the index within a week. So yes send a DMCA if you can prove you have the copyright. One point, they only removed the homepage, I had sort of assumed that they would remove all pages once they saw the site and there were still plenty of other copied pages. I filed another request but nothing has happened with that and for reasons unbeknown to me the site suddenly has removed all the copied content.

Because of this I have now independently registered my site content so that I am better protected next time. Its disheartening when you spend a day getting some copy looking good and then a competitor just comes along and copies it, why bother.

This has just happened to me and my sites ranking has taken a nosedive.

do a search on copyright service uk, should be obvious who i did it. it is not a legal registration though, just 'independent' evidence that at this date you did in fact have this content.

note that I am not sure about the benefits, i would not likely get any damages because my content is not valuable but I did it just so that if i have to write another dmca to google, I can include this as independent evidence of ownership. If you already have a problem it wont help because the registration is dated of course.

i used httrack to get my site running on a cd and wrote a program to blank any images that were not really mine (per se).
