Why loves Google "a"?

If you search for the letter "a" Google shows 8.000.000.000 results.

[google.com...]

That`s much more than "www", "e" or other letters. Why?

Because the letter "a" is used more often that the letter "e" alone in setences.

eg. "a man", "a car", "a cat" and so on..

If you search on Google Germany there is the "Fraunhofer IIS - Homepage" in the Top 10 without the single letter "a" on this site.

Because of the <a> in the HTML-Code?

It's the same case with "the".

8.000.000.000

Hmmm.

I only get 2,890,000,000 results on Google.com
3,300,000,000 pages on Google.se
3,450,000,000 pages on Google.de
3,280,000,000 pages on .ru

(Still round, even numbers though!)

I kind of wonder... If we track these numbers to DCs, we could find out which sites use which DC...
