Well, today I have run into a different twist. I have a domain that I put up a while back and haven't really promoted yet. Today, I was going to begin doing some work on it.
I went to Google just to look at when it was last cached. I clicked on the view cache in the toolbar and Wha? That's not my page. In fact, even in the top where Google claims the page may have changed, they point to the OTHER site...completely different URL.
Another odd thing is that if I view the cache by clicking on the "Cached" link in the SERPs instead of via the toolbar, it shows the correct cache.
The only difference between the two is that via the toolbar, the URL is something like
[216.239.39.104...]
While if I click on the "cached" link in the SERPs the URL is
[64.233.179.104...]
So obviously the unique letter combination after "cache:" and before my URL is properly identifying my site, but without it, G is getting quite confused.
Has anyone ever run into this problem?
