I'm converting an old frontpage site to a real site. All the pages but the home page have an .htm extension and are indexed that way in Google. If I switch them to .html will it kill the good rankings they have?

Should I set up redirects in htaccess?

Yes, changing the file names means that Google will view each one as a different page completely.

Just leave the filenames as they are a .htm file is still a HTML file, it just has an abbreviated file extention.

There's no benefit in changing your files from .htm to .html , so leave them as they are.

Don't set up redirects, that won't prevent your rankings being damaged, it just helps them recover (eventually).
