Has Google Taken Any Action?

Whilst I've been vaguely aware of this issue, I've suddenly become much more interested in it as I've found two sites that are doing it to one of mine:-(

What action can be taken (nothing that I'm aware of apart from writing to the offending sites and requesting they remove their links (ha, ha yeah, right) if any?

Did Google say they were doing something about it?

Anybody got any tips?
