Viewing Google.com versus Google.com.au

Hi everyone,

I'm in Australia so when I go to www.google.com, it defaults to www.google.com.au. How do I stop this happening?

I'd like to see my ranking in the .com, and selecting "the web" is doing something different. I have a tool which reports my ranking in the .com and it tells me I'm ranked 13 for my primary keyword "copywriter". When I search for "copywriter" and select "the web" I'm ranked at number 1. I'd like to see for myself using the plain ole .com.

I know this is a question that's been answered before (and probably on this forum), but I've been searching for hours and can't find the answer.

Thanks heaps in advance.

I live in Australia, and when I enter google.com into my browser, it goes there, and not google.com.au.

Perhaps this link will do the trick:

My guess is regional settings on your computer, try changing it to usa. Or try deleting cookies.

Look below the search box

There are three links:

Advertising Programmes - About Google - Go to Google.com

If you want to go to Google.com - click on the link.

When you go to Google.com - you get these 3 options:

Advertising Programs - About Google - Go to Google Australia

You can go back to Google Australia.

Thanks for your help everyone. I knew the solution was simple! It appears not as simple as I, however!
