Firefox & Safari Google Results all different

Hi,

I am sure someone has answered this, but I can't find any info as the webmasterworld search keeps filtering my kw i am looking for.

Does anyone know why google spits different results for I.E(Mac or Windows) ¦ FireFox (Mac or Windows or Linux) ¦ Or Safari for any search fairly competitive search term.

Why would that be beneficial for non computer platform related search terms?

Just a guess here - this may just be one convenient variable for testing a diferent Google algo - and that may be BECAUSE the search words are not platform dependent.

If they serve different results via geo-location, browser, platform, time-of-day and so on, then they can even out a lot of the bumps with analysis and get highly valid measures of user satisfcation.
