I know given the current shake-up this may be a bad time to ask but I just wondered if anyone could throw any light on our dilemma!
Our site domain.co.uk has never ranked brilliantly for our most desired key word phrase but sub-pages rank really well for more specific brands/prodcts so we just live with it and do our best to 'white hat' optimise as best we can. Recently I've noticed though that while we continue to appear around #25 for the key word phrase when searching 'the web' if I restrict to 'pages from the uk' we appear much much lower or non-existant (#180 or so when I last found us)
We are a .co.uk domain (with .com on a permanant redirect) and hosted in the UK so can anyone suggest why this might be? For other more specific searches we appear a few spots higher on 'pages from the uk' than 'the web' as I'd expect because all the US/AUS sites have been stripped out...
