Cache shows text only format

I just noticed that the header of the Google cache pages now shows

This cached page may reference images which are no longer available. Click here for the cached text only.

Clicking the link shows a copy of the page without images and without css.

I only really look at the cache pages around update time, but this seems new and I can't see it mentioned before.

Search G for "Click here for the cached text only", with the quotes, for others.
