I've seen that a lot of people have different thougts about how google handles domains sharing ip. Could anyone tell me if the following are myths or facts?
1. If a domain sharing an ip with other domains gets banned, all domains on that ip get banned also.
2. If I have 10 differents domains, linking to a website on the same ip. Do I loose pagerank? or is the same as 10 sites with 10 different ips?
I'm asking because I have only an 8 ip range network, and I'll be seeling online shops to my costumers, those shops will be hosted on 2 servers and they will have a link "Powered by" linking to a domain where the software is sold, and I would like to use 20-50 PR4-6 backlinks.
If links on the same IP don't count, should I move my Shop Selling Domain to another IP, would that solve the problem if exists?
Thanks in advanced.
Cheers

p.s: GoogleGuy, if you have time and would like to comment on this, would be really nice, or maybe you can update the google "myth or fact" site?
I honestly don't think Google would do things based on IP addresses being that most hosting companies use Apache virtual directories to host multiple web sites on one machine having one IP address.
Linking, same story. I see little reason for Google to do things by IP address because one IP address could have everything from porn sites to home and garden sites on it.
Good question though.
I have actually asked the very same questions but I somehow don't think I ever got an answer back. I am as puzzled as you two are about this and, being a web hosting company as well as an SEO firm, I sure would like to settle this hurdle down once and for all.
Depending on the answer (s), I would probably make a few changes too.
Google Guy, if you see this thread, could you throw us a bit of light please. I'm pretty certain I have seen this question, or variations of it on the board once or twice.
Thanks :-)

The gut feeling is that it should not, unless it is manually applied, as some hosts have several hundred sites off one IP address.
As Oaf mentioned, It would be foolish to associate an IP with the many different sites contained within it. So all your sites would be treated as separate entities. See post by Googleguy on this thread.
