ASP.NET and XML based chat without page refresh?

hi i m developing a browser based chat using ASP.NET and callind the data into XML document. the only problem i have is that its taking long to refresh. can anyone suggest something so as to increase the response time and something like without page referesh

You could use JavaScript and XMLHttpRequest to dynamicly update the page, or even an iframe.
