I'm looking for a news portal script where news can be added using a GUI instead of having to update it through a html editor with moderator and admin rights. The pages need to be search engine friendly. Could someone recommend a script that can do this? It can be free or proprietary. Doesn't necessarily have to be XML powered but I'm given to understand that XML is a good platform for a script like this. Please guide me.

Taking a step back. I think you are describing a content management system (CMS), where business users can update pages for instance in a web browser without requiring the intervention of the webmaster. That is a much more general topic than this forum; you should be able to find some useful threads from [google.com...] .

Once that CMS is in place, you may be able to take advantage of XML technologies to syndicate your content to other sites, and of course receive content from them.

Thanks for the input. I was looking at a CMS comparison website and it seems rather difficult to determine a good solution. A news site has far fewer requirements really. Just need to be able to categorize news and update news/ images.
