Anybody tried to transfer a .info or .biz out of Netsol? I know you have to obtain the code and the registrar (NetSol) is supposed to provide it [afilias.info]. That said, and without turning this into a NS-bashing contest, you know how they are about transfers. So I figured I'd see if anyone here has managed to pull their camel through the Netsol needle eye already?

As the unfortunate mug who had to go down the transfer out route last year for a Client, I can only say it's a long road & involves blood, sweat and tears.

Where some Registrars openly display the auth code which allows for an easy transfer, I couldn't find a trace of it in NetSol's account manager nor in the help pages. (ooh - that's a surprise then)

After finding this [opensrs.org] at OpenSRS, the auth code was eventually acquired after a flurry of (expensive) phonecalls to NetSol and the sending of an appropriate fax for a UK business.

Can't really say that's a confidence inspiring reply though;)

Right. Been there, done that for a while this afternoon. The fruit of my labor? An email to them and this very thread.

Yep, I already have that bookmarked in anticipation of the "helpful" reply I'll get from NS.

Heh! Considering the speed at which they'll handle my transfer requests, I may be short on time --the first one expires in late October.
