ogrish is a disgusting site that features videos of people being killed and things like that.

They had the daniel pearl video and the FBI tried to force their host to shut them down. That didn't work - and now the Germans have sent an order to joker.com ordering it to be disabled.

I will never register a domain there.

Yup. Government control over information is tightening. It's starting to resemble Soviet Russia.

Good point! :)

Civil rights vs the ability to use it responsibly!

So we dont delve too deep into the world of politics (never a nice place to be!), and analogy could be made between this and the SE view of spam.

Yes, in an ideal world it would be good for webmasters to have set guidelines to create sites by - but there will always be people who take it too far and abuse the information to their own end!

What a world we live in! :)

I fail to see anything wrong with that case. There´s no doubt that businesses have to stick to the law of the place where they operate. If Jocker.com or their customer do not like the decision of the Staatsanwaltschaft they can appeal against that decision and then there are 3 court levels they can go through. Then there are the German Constitutional Court and the European Court on Human Rights. All those courts are there to safeguard everybody´s civil rights. There are absolutely no parallels to Soviet Russia where no such safe guards existed.

Siegfried Langenbach the top man at Joker.com is a very intelligent man, and will have an angle somewhere along the line.
