Hello

I am quite new to registering domain names, so if my question suggests that my knowledge about this subject is low I apologize in advance.

I recently registered 2 domain names. One is a .co.uk and the other a .com., both for different sites. Both sites are located on webspace offered by free webspace providers and the .co.uk and .com domains redirect to the real location.

When I bought these domains I was hoping that on the serp the sites would show up as the .co.uk and .com domains as 90% of the backward links (78 backward links in total) are pointing at the registered domain name. But unfortunately, only the widget.freewebspaceprovider.com/index.html are showing in the serp.

What do I need to do to get the widget.com and widget.co.uk in the serp? (I've registed these months ago, and both are indexed by google months ago).

many thanks
Arjen

I'm not absolutely certain of this, but my guess would be that as long as you are using a redirect on the domain name it will always show the target URL in the SERPs. However much you might wish it, there's nothing *there* at the redirect, just a forwarding address.

Assuming I'm right about that, the only solution would be to switch to hosting that will let you point your domain name at the server you are really on.
