Anyone know anything about .sr domain names?

I have noticed some domain registration sites touting the new .sr domain name. Does anyone have any experience with this? There are some nice keyword pharases available for .sr and i was thinking about scooping some up.

Will i have just as likely of a chance ranking high in Looksmart (MSN) and google and others with this .sr domain name? I would imagine so just wanted to check. I know i have seen some .cc and the like ranking high but i dont see many .sr, maybe because they just came out?

Also does anyone know where these domains can be purchased cheap? I usually use godaddy for domain names but they dont offer .sr from what i can see.

The .sr TLD is being touted as the senior domain name. It's actually a country code domain for the country of Suriname.

Dotster is currently offering registrations in this TLD for the low, low price of $99/year.

1).sr is not a global tld (com/net/org/biz/info)

2)The keywords in your url may help you in a few ways on the engines but the .sr extension may scare away some people that have never seen the tld and wonder if you are for real.

3)Some engines may treat it like a domain from Surinam because that is exactly what it is. Ignore domain marketers, they spend more time trying to create markets than they do trying to satisfy existing markets.

Seriously, there are lots of ccTLDs out there, which at some point get advertized with some marketing spin by some registrars.
