I have downloaded the demo version and seams to work well. However the demo only searches 5 domains then goes blank. Has anyone purchased this software and if so is it possible to locate domains with any type of real (say 100 link) link pop?
Once you have "found" a deleted domain how easy is it to register the domain name?
Thanks for your help,
Chef Brian
For argument sake if a domain had a significant amount of linkage then:
1. It was possibly induced by the owner and may be spammed links, links farms, etc, or
2. quality links but the owner was scam artist, or highly disreputable.
I tend to think that a quality company, with quality links wouldn't just dismiss a domain that produces something.
On occasion this does happen e.g. Canada3000 when bankrupt and the domain was picked up by an adult site, but the linkage wouldn't do them much good over the long term either.
(think of all those travelers that got a shock!)
Frankly I think it's more work than it's worth to find a recently expired domain (possibly with dmoz and yahoo links) only to have 25 spam cops with shiny new badges emailing the editors at Y and Dmoz when you start ranking above them. Of course when the editor for the fine European wine category finds your domain is now selling Nitrous Oxide Systems for go carts....they might delete it. So much for the advantage.
In the current atmosphere where everyone thinks everything that beats their own site is spam it's a waste of time to try a tactic like this. You may get 3 months of mileage out of it, or you may get away with it.
To me it's not really spam...it's being smart and using your brain and knowledge to your advantage. That's what business is all about. I just dont think you'll get much mileage on this one though.
Honestly, requesting links for your site (new domain or current) is far better. There just isn't any good replacement for a bit of research, link requests and directory submissions to categories which match you to target markets and not just anyone.
I starting working with the company in my sticky in April, at that time their link pop was sparing and those they did have were about that same as their PageRank, PR1 - PR3.
5 months later their primary site is PR7, 2 secondary sites are high 6's (that will be solid PR7's next update), and a fourth domain (portal/database) with only 2 pages accessable to google is a solid PR7 as well.
I don't believe you can simply shortcut yourself to any measured result.
Thanks for setting me straight, with what I am doing now things are looking great. But this is all done in my spare time as I work a full time job. I can see myself making a couple thousand in a year or so .....(right now I am averaging about $400 monthly).
I just wish there was a way to speed things up, I kinda look at it as it costing me money NOT to be doning this full time.
Regardless, I will forget the pop domain idea as your points are all to valid. I will continue on the straight and narror.
