Bought a new domain name and received a sales call

Kinda strange. Bought a new domain name (a pretty interesting one) a few days ago. Today received a call from a web hosting company offering to host my web site. No relation between registrar and web host that I know of.
It appears there is some kind of "domains which have been recently purchased" list. Anyone know where it is located if it exists?

I've experienced this also. I bought two more domain names recently and soon afterwards started to recieve calls and emails from web hosting companies that are (seemingly) unrelated to the registrar (in this case register.com).
Do the registration companies sell on our contact details?

Well, There are lists available if you know whom to talk to. And yes Registrars do sell lists of their new customers to hosting companies. I have first hand experience with both the creation of these lists and with Registrars selling these lists. From my personal experience Register.com and NetSol both sell lists to their trusted hosting company partners.
