Ok, NetSol phone support has been horriable for years, but all of a sudden when I call I reach a human in under a minute. It shocks me every time! I am like, uh, WOW, you guys answered. And quick. I have tracerouted the phone banks to some firm that out sources tech support. I must say Verisign is starting to shape up. They are taking this customer service thing seriously now.

On the other hand, I just called GoDaddy support and was on hold for 20 minutes. Talk about Twilight zone! Did all the customers that require 20 minutes of tech support time just switch to GoDaddy or what.

While I am talking about phone wait time, I called Dotster and eNom lately and the phone time was under 1 minute as well.

Netsol is advertising ALL over television right now about becoming a NASDAQ 100 company. With the current state of the stock market, it would be a good idea to put customer service at the top of their list where it belongs.

Whenever I have called GoDaddy it has been instance answering or up to 10 minute wait, which is fine by me :) I dial their 8899 number ;)

I was looking for their 800 number. Do they have one? I called both 8877 and 8899. I just waited on hold for 20 minutes and they were no help. So I called the president's office. They answered the phone ASAP. Looks like I will not call regulars numbers with them unless I find that 800 number.

Nopes I dont think so, well I didnt ask them - maybe i will next time i call :) oOoo ok hey i called them and asked for their toll free number. they said they didnt have one. I told them it sucks when i get my phone bill and hold time cost me more than the domain name actually cost ;) he suggested calling early in the morning and to use their web-board for support :)

I called GoDaddy a few weeks ago and after waiting for 20-25 mins, the call was answered by someone who barely knew what domain name is. After wasting another 20 minutes talking to this guy, I slowly started transfering my names to another registar.
3 down, 20 more to go.

<quote> Why our prices are so low! [....] We also don't waste money on unnecessary things like toll-free telephone numbers that are often abused anyway. </quote>

This attitude toward customers appears to me, who am an imbecile, to be a good reason not to use this registrar.

Every registrar is different in phone support - some don't even offer it at all.

NetSol is getting better - until you have a serious problem. When a problem does crop up, you can never get the same tech support person between calls. I think it actually makes the phone support WORSE than discussing the problem in email.

That and the fact, that many of the phone support people at netsol I've talked with are not fluent english speakers. That made for several misunderstandings and made problems much worse instead of better.

Why is my domain prevented from transfer. Is it locked or something?
Sure, we can lock your domain...

90days later, I'm still fighting to get a domain unlocked.

You get what you pay for. I register my domains through OnlineNIC and pay just $6.69. Their support is pretty bad; you wait several days for emails to be answered. But with having to contact them regarding maybe 1 domain in every 250 registered I think I can handle that.

Agreed CHC. First thing I do with a new domain, or client is move their site out of NetSol. It can't be fast enough. Often, netsol will try to bill you for an extra year if it is within 60 days of renewal. So I transfer them out of NetSOL ASAP.

They are the worst serviced and managed company I've dealt with in my entire life (even worse than microsoft). I'd rather own Enron and WorldCom stock than a domain in Netsol.

I reread my post (msg #7), and see to my distress that it might be taken to be insulting. I apologize if it was taken that way.

I called myself an imbecile because I spent the morning trying to get a perl script to work, and it was only after two hours of error messages that it occurred to me to check whether the server was set up to handle perl scripts. It isn't. But no one reading my post could have known that.

All I wanted to do was to answer Lisa's question (msg #3): according to the Web site, there is no 800 number.

Sorry. Apologies to all.
