could someone tell me if free parking of a domain mean it cant be pointed anywhere?..for instance if i have a parked domain at godaddy would they point it at my other url or can it not be used in anyway unless its hosted?

Dont think I saw that as an option. Parking generally means it points to their NS that make it so your URL is accessable while yer busy building yer site etc.

I don't remember exactly how the redirection is done, but I would not do godaddy's redirection. Someone's site had a Page Rank problem using the redirection a while back.

Parking simply means you are using godaddy's name servers to point to a "blank" (advertising) page. You can log into godaddy and change the nameservers addresses to anywhere else you want at any time. This is just to give you time to create your site or find a nameserver or whatever.

Godaddy also has a redirection service. Some people use it to redirect the domain name to places like angelfire or tripod.

I just transferred a domain to GoDaddy, they are now offering free URL redirects. Does anyone know how their masking redirects works?

Presumably, the same way everyone else's masking works: a FRAMESET with only one FRAME. Fools human readers, but not search engines, making it impractical for serious use.
