Has anybody come across this problem.

Transferring Domain name from Netsol -> Godaddy

Netsol :

Because your intent to Change the Registrar of your domain name, xxxxxxxxx.com, to Go Daddy Software, Inc. was not confirmed, Network Solutions/Verisign has instructed the Registry not to change the Registrar.

But they don't let you confirm change anywhere?

Did you get a confirmation email at the original email address they have on record for the administrative contact?

I recently transferred a domain from Netsol to Gandi and I had no problem.

It is very strange: usually they send an email asking the authorizathion to transfer the domain; you should have received it.

Last year I had to renew a dominion for one year with Netsol (before to transfer to Gandi) because the expiration day was less than 1 month.

You should call netsol. You may be on hold for a while but you can find out whats going on.

There is a minimum time period you have to wait after the domain is initially registered. Also, admin information must match exactly. These and other factors are taken into account when transferring. Read Netsol's policy completely to see if you are violating any of their conditions.

Also, double-check that your admin-c listed mailbox is active.

Let your future registrar know, they should be able to help you out.

Give it another try, perhaps?

We had the same issue last week with a transfer from NetSol. We never got the "are you sure you want to leave us?" email. (Yes, we're very sure.) We just submitted it a second time and the confirmation magically appeared.

Hi,

I had that same problem with Network Solutions. I then went and did a domain name change with GoDaddy. Of course, Network Solutions denied it. Then I had the president of our company, the one with the domain name, write Network Solutions on the denial. "My name is >>>>> and I am president of >>>>>. I want my domain name transferred. Finally, they did it. Maybe this will work for you. They are horrible. And I am so glad to be away from them.

Good Luck
Janine

p.s. GoDaddy has a lawsuit against Netsol. You can file a complaint against Netsol if you want at: FTC Consumer Complaint Form

We have had major problems with Network Solutions and Businessserve. Basically they ignore your requests to transfer because when the domain was registered they put themselves as admin contact. So they get a mail asking them to release, and they just dont.

I always make the first step to transferring a domain a fax on headed note paper stating that i am the registered owner of a domain and I want to admin contact name changed to my own e-mail. Chase this up if it is not done right away. The fax heading must match the name on the whois or this can cause problems.

I have a theory that this is especially rife in Britain where in the past businesses were not web savvy. When I joined my company they had about 40 domains X £100pa that they could do nothing with. On top of this the hosting company basically would not let them go without paying £40 a pop. Thehosting company showed their stupidity by the fact they used a third party to register the domain names. I found this out and went straight to them. Because our company was the legal owner I was able to transfer them out that way. My word that created a stink. But it shows the stupidity that makes bigger traditional companies think they can pull the wool over peoples eyes by keeping the details of Domain Names secret.

Not sure if this is of use, but we've noticed that NetSol have recently changed the e-mail sent out to the admin contact which requests confirmation of the intra-registrar transfer...to say that the mail is somewhat deceiving would be an understatement.

The new mail has "information about your account" as the subject line and requires you to scroll to the second half of the text before making you aware that it's a transfer request.

The whole thing almost looks designed to appear like a junk mail from NetSol, which it clearly isn't.

Coincidence?

...the subject line is certainly less obvious than that used previously...almost seems like a deliberate ploy to make people to renew with them, but surely not...

And they wonder why people are moving domains left, right and center.

Verisign is indeed getting very sneaky. I've changed the identifiable information below, including ID numbers, to demonstrate what a release verification e-mail from NetSol looks like these days. This is a transfer from NetSol to GoDaddy. Notice that a) there is no mention of the new registrar in this e-mail; b) the important information is buried after the spam-lookalike stuff, and c) even after reading the entire thing, it all sounds like bad guys are trying to hijack your domain, but lucky you, Verisign is protecting you against all those predators out there!

I had warned the person receiving this to be on the lookout for exactly this type of deviousness, thanks to a previous poster on this thread. Even so, the person wasn't sure that this was the message she had been waiting for, and forwarded it to me.

I transferred to GoDaddy last April. I regret that I didn't save the NetSol response back then, but I recall that at that time it was straightforward and not at all confusing.

it's been a nightmare trying to move my domains from netsol, but i finally managed to get one out yesterday. i ended up having to pay their $35 renewal fee last year when repeated attempts to transfer domains failed.

their acceptance of my transfer request (at last):

The Registrar Transfer Request for:

Domain Name: XXXXX
Requesting Registrar: Tucows, Inc.
Current Registrar: Network Solutions, Inc.

has been approved. Though we're sorry to see you go, we've sent the transfer command to the registry as you've requested.

We've enjoyed serving you. If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your new registrar, please consider us again. We are constantly improving our services and expanding our offerings.

Switching back is easy! Bookmark this web address for your future use.

Best Regards,

VeriSign, Inc.
Change of Registrar Group

too right they've enjoyed serving me when they can repeatedly refuse my transfer requests and sting me for $35 per domain. when i get the last one out, i'm going to tell them where to poke their services.

There were several bad experiences I had with NetSol that caused me to transfer. Last summer I got a notice to renew a dot-com domain from some NetSol billing and collection place called Interland, Inc. NetSol had apparently outsourced this function. The only acknowledgement from them that they had received my check was in the form of the expiration date getting advanced on the Whois at the last possible minute, even though I paid six weeks in advance. Of course I knew the check had gone through, because the cancelled check came back in the very next bank statement. I had also telephoned them and they said it was in the system. The experience left a bad impression because there seemed to be a disconnect somewhere. I still don't know what Interland, Inc. is, but there was definitely a NetSol logo on the bill.

For one domain that I registered at NetSol, it ended up that when I needed to change the name servers, NetSol came back and said that they weren't the registrar. Perhaps that was the domain that I had parked for a couple of months. All I know is that I started out with NetSol to register it originally, and I had never heard of this other registrar. I think the "parking" function was outsourced automatically.

Of course, the e-mail templates at InterNic/NetSol were always confusing; I've had to figure out the system several times in the eight years since I got my first domain.

Last December it was time to renew a dot-org domain. I did this one by credit card at NetSol. But I was dismayed that the check boxes for the length of the new renewal started at two years. I wanted a one-year renewal. No box for one year! No boxee, no renewee!

By then it began to sink in that Verisign = Enron = WorldCon, and in April I transferred everything out of NetSol. Just in the nick of time, I'd say. But I still feel stupid for that $70 that NetSol got in December.

What's really sad is that they have done so much damage to their reputation that we aren't surprised by any type of dubious activity.
