not much anyone can do or say, but I just saw someone else's site on my domain.... I mean their domain, I guess. out of all the names I had, why did they have to get that one. totally my fault.

I have recurring nightmares about that, db. Sorry to hear you lost one.

Yeah, I know the feeling. Well not me... but my former boss. He bought a domain in 1997 for $5,000. Then he forgot to renew it a few years later and lost it. Talk about hard lesson to learn.

I have had that happen to many of my clients in the past. They get the renewal notices from the registrar and never do anything with it. A few months later after the domain has expired and been bought by somebody else they come complaining to us.

It always seems that these domains are the ones with great rankings and traffic as well.

One of my clients (outdoor furniture manufacturer) let THE PRIME keyword dotcom go. He called me in a panic. I told him the solution was very simple, give me the authority to buy it back, sell his house, then send me the money so I could start bargaining.

it could be worse, the name had never been used, but it was part of a set... maybe thats what confused me.... I swear I triple checked.

...honestly, this is a typical dogboy move... great idea, terrible execution... story of my life... my visions blind me

Anything I have that makes more then 10 dollars a year is paid until 2010 or is set to auto-renew.

>Is it the million $ bill?

That's why it's just the primary ones.... those 7-digit renewal checks take all the fun out of it.
