how can i find out the contact details of a domain name owner admin contact etc.

for a .co.uk domain??

Try one of apnic.net, ripe.net or [arin.net...]

I am relatively new to this but one of these should provide what you need.

*.uk domains are handled by Nominet UK. Here are the instructions for their WHOIS service: [nic.uk...]

Problem is, the nic.uk WHOIS doesn't share as much information as the gTLD databases. You might get an e-mail address, and that's it.

i'd got to the whois but was hoping for the same info as you can get from the registrar database for a dot com.

i guess its not available in the same way.
