Speculation and losing out.

I find it kinda funny how (especially in the .info's) I see so many "speculators" sitting on really good domain names that they'll probably never get a dime for. I know they aren't protecting their "interests" that already exist because they aren't affiliated with the .com's that I looked up. Surprisingly most of the speculators in the .info's seem to be from Europe.

The good thing is if you just do the best with what you have you'll make alot more money than the speculators who are sitting on good domains with no web site.

I agree. I can't ever really see any need to ever pay for a domain name based on the name. There are just so many alternatives, permutations, etc that can be registered for $9 instead of the 4-5 digit sums speculators are shooting for. The only reason I would buy a name is for an already established reputation or the key-in traffic. Otherwise, there is hardly any gain.
