Expiring Domains

When can I register them?

I've done a search on Whois for a domain that I'd like to actually use (novel idea, I know)...

The record indicates that it expired on October 26, but of course it's not available for purchase now.

Any idea on why this happens? (netsol has some vague "answer" to this question that really answers nothing at all). And the more important question...when can I register the domain?

It's an iffy situation Canton. I've seen them come available a month later and I've seen them take months and months. It's not a predictable kind of thing and there is no rhyme or reason to it.

You might try the service (Snap?) that will get the name for you as soon as it does come available. You probably could do this yourself just as well.

Thanks toolman...I've signed up for the free snap service. Just wondering if their was any ryhme or reason behind it, because as far as I could tell, their wasn't. Now that you've confirmed this, at least I know I wasn't overlooking something...
