We have 4 domains, two products. I've split our products into two domains but all 4 sites are internally hosted...with the same IP address!!! I know this sucks and really am looking for some help finding a few good ISP's...maybe just one (if they have different B Class IP blocks...but from what I understand, this usually isn't the case).....

So...I am asking any of you pro's out there to pass on any ISPs (anywhere in the country) that are good and have different ISPs or a group of 4 or so ISP's that all have different B class IP blocks......

Thank you SO MUCH!

Ideally this is not the best situation. Virtual hosting, however is the wave of the future as IP's become short in supply.

I have several sites hosted that share the same IP with 125 sites on the same server....they all rank well.

I have subdomains with different IP's than the main domain...they rank well.

The moral of the story? Do the best you can with what you have and you'll be fine.

Good hosting companies? We won't list them because of the obvious promotion problems we'd create but I would try one of the hostindex.com type sites and look for things like cgi-bin and .htaccess and mySQL and PHP, etc.

Thanks to both of you for the info!

I have ranked rather well with what I have so far. But......I've been to quite a few global web marketing conferences....one being where webmasterworld's webmaster's attended in Vegas, and if we all remember what the various top guys of the major search engines said....they WILL start cracking down on this, maybe they haven't got to it yet, but the plan is to crack down on linked sites back to each other with the same or similar IP address.....that is my concern. All of our websites are linked back to each other or should I say...our three "gateway" websites point back to our main site....all sites sharing the same IP...this sucks! :)

Thanks again all of you!

Most of the bigger hosts will honor a request for different c-blocks. Everyone I've asked has done so when I signed up. Like Toolman says, it's not as big an issue as it used to be, but at the same time your vigilance is appropriate in a commercial setting.
