Hi all,

I recently was looking for a domain for my new site. Of course, most domains I liked had been already taken. However, by some lucky coinincidence ,I found one domain which would expire in the next few days. Because I've never bought a used domain, there are 2 issues that bother me:
- Is there any risk?
- Will the domain be out of google sandbox(it's been around for 1 year)?

Check with the registers reclaim policy. It's not unusal to be given 45 days to reclaim a expired name.

Remember you are buying a used name with a history. Research carefully. You will be buying the history.

Well, as for the site history, there doesn't seem to be anything wrong:

- it's some sort of a blog with about 5 pages.
- it was registered about 1 year ago.
- several links to other site of similar kind.

I just started searching for some information about buying expired domains and there seems to be one big advice: "Buying expired domains should be the last choice".

I also heard that Google "disregards" expired domains
(doesn't index it often or something). But is this a rule? Does anyone of you actually get good SERPs on an expired domain?
