Since 60 to 70% of new traffic will come from SE. I believe someone spoiling a keyword in URL does not make the most profitable decision.
If your web site promotion strategy is based on screaming your URL on sidewalks, then you could go for something easy to verbalise. :)

The hyphen was debated in most details, it is worth the reading.
But just a question, can many domain names "pointing" at the same site lead to troubles?
I have several that I do that way, no problems that I know of if you set it up that way from the start and only submit one.
Indications are that in some instances it may not cause problems even if they are spidered as "dual" domains. I have one site with hyphen that was grandfathered in everywhere. I later acquired the domain without hyphens. Because the new acquisition was THE keyword phrase, I pointed the "without" to the old hyphenated domain, and rewrote my internal links to the new UNhypenated domain. Third parties have now linked to the new domain as well. The result: in several of the major engines both still come in at top slots. It looks very spammy, but there's nothing much that can be done.
