Possible problem registering a domain

Last night I was going through possible domains to register and found a real gem, or possibly a gold mine.

I quickly registered it with one of the biggest registars.

I received the regular registration emails, but I got another email this morning saying that it could *possibly* be rejected and if it was, they would refund my money. Something which I am not so worried about.

People often talk of domain name conspiracies and I have had my own experience, finding a good name available, only to find the next day it was registered by someone.

I learnt my lesson and register anything I think might have potential, but to find out that it might be rejected after registering it, is another matter altogether.

I know I should just wait, but after getting all excited last night about the potential for the new site, I am litle agitated this morning.

Anyone else have this experience?

I got something similar a long time ago. I don't remember the wording was "rejected." I think the message was more along the lines that they did not have real-time lookup of the .COM registry so there was a possibility that someone else may have registered the domain since their last lookup, or something like that.

It was several years ago from one of the smaller companies- not even sure why I was using them. I think I was trying out different registrars to find an alternative to NetSol at the time.

Anyway, I ended up with the domain name, so either no conspiracy or they decided the domain name was too obscure/stupid to try to conspire against me. :)
