If the domain is a class act people have been beating on your door and that's the market you should be paying all your attention to.
If it's a traffic domain then, so long as you have solid traffic stats, you can post at ALL of the domain forums (that allow that) and expect to be paid somewhere from 1.5 to 10+ Xs the current earnings.
If it's just a domain that you think has potential but it doesn't have much traffic you can also hawk it at all the forums (the more the better). You might find a buyer, but don't expect more than >$25-500 for the domain unless it's a natural born killer, which once again, is a domain that also carries with it some traffic.

When it comes to selling in forums the domains and their stats speak for themselves. Marketing language in sale's thread titles (Great domain!, excellent potential, etc.) have become the laughing stock of most forums. The people with real money to spend don't even look such titles because they know what's inside.
Just post the domain name in the thread title and everything else will fall into place.
Unless it's a traffic domain I would suggest you post it every possible place you can. All of them, because you are after the impulse buyer (if the world hasn't been knocking on your door for the past few years).

Last time, I applied for my domain name ( which was not that good!) .. they simply rejected me:) so i know they are doing their job properly

Ever see a good domain with a homely looking, underdeveloped, lovelorn website? Is the value in the website or the domain? (Some would argue both, when considering the "aging" of domains).
We look at the domain value. Website valuation is a different matter (that we sometimes discuss).
