Leasing a domain name: What are the steps and the issues?

Any 3rd party service act as middleman for domain leasing?

Or how I should go about the process I'm just trying to lease a domain name for a year and just want to hear other people's experience with doing this.

Allow me to ask: Why a lease?

Who controls the WhoIs record for the year? A trusted 3d party?

Are you paying for the year in full up front?

It can be done. It requires a good landlord. :) I've done it x1, for a good cause. Simple 1 page lease agreement.

On the lessor's side I'd be concerned about having a domain name burned by a developer.

The guy wants an unreasonable amount for the domain to be sold, however a one year deal for a lease is quite cheap.

Good enough for me, they would control the whois, and the domain would be forwarded.

Thanks for your help

So, they will be forwarding type in traffic to you?

Or, do you mean that they will change to the DNS of your choice and you will be developing a site?

The first case, I would consider. The second case, no way.
